Easter is a great time to capture family photographs for scrapbooking. Even if you don’t scrapbook, planning your picture taking ahead of time ensures you won’t miss any of these great family memories. No family traditions? Then this is a great time to start!

Here are some Easter photograph ideas for scrapbooking:

Photograph spring flowers in bloom. Daffodils and tulips will make a colorful contrast to your other photographs.

Have your kids help you make Easter cookies or an Easter cake. Snap a picture of them working in the kitchen and then make sure to take a picture of the finished product. We made a layer cake and arranged it on a thick piece of cardboard covered with aluminum foil. It was lemon cake with lemon filling and pink frosting. We decorated it with store-bought Easter candy. Around the base of the cake we arranged Easter grass and added chocolate eggs and peeps for decoration. It made a great picture!

Gingerbread houses aren’t just for Christmas! Make a gingerbread house and decorate it for Easter with pastel colors and lots of Easter candy. The possibilities are limitless.

If your family attends Easter church services, make sure to get a picture of your girls in their Easter dresses. Dressing up is a great excuse to take a picture.

Coloring Easter eggs never gets old, whatever the age of your kids! They never get tired of showing you how creative they are. Join in on the fun and then take a picture of the finished product.

Easter egg hunts are also fun for the whole family. Take some good action pictures and get a picture of your kids with their Easter baskets.

Easter dinners are a great time to take family pictures. It’s a good time to take pictures of relatives you don’t often see, and fun to get pictures of the family laughing and enjoying a meal together. Take pictures of any of the good food you want to remember later.

Have fun picture taking, and have a Happy Easter!

Photos are completed.

There’s an amazing variety of scrapbooking supplies available nowadays. You can buy supplies in stores and online… in fact, you can even create your own papers and embellishments with your computer! Beginner or advanced, you’ll find the scrapbooking supplies you need to create beautiful pages. Here’s an overview of what you should have in your kit:

The first thing you’re going to need is an album. Albums come in all shapes and sizes. There are a variety of different cover materials as well. The fasteners inside vary, as well. Pay attention to how your pages go into your album so you can be sure you’ve got a compatible system. Most modern scrapbooks hold plastic sheeting which you slip your finished page down into.

A good way to choose albums is by what you’ll be putting in them. So you can choose a cover in baby blue for a baby boy’s “first year” album. A pink album with glitters may be a perfect choice for a little girl’s birthday memories. You can also choose a set of albums made of the same material and to the same size. They’ll look handsome on display together, and are a good choice for holding family memories.

Refill pages are essential. Get pages that go with your albums, and get plenty of them. You’ll be surprised how many pages you end up with as you record your memories.

Card stock is important, too. You’ll use it in many ways as you create your scrapbooks, so have plenty on hand. You can buy card stock in many sizes, including stacks in regular letter paper size.

Have several kinds of acid-free adhesives on hand. Regular acid-free tape is good for attaching pictures and embellishments. You can also stock up on acid-free photo corners and other mounting supplies.

Scissors are vital. Have a set of sharp scissors (or two, or three) that only get used when you’re working on scrapbooking. You need good, sharp scissors for many of the detail cuts you’ll be doing on your pages. You can also get scissors that have different edges – some wavy, some zig-zags, etc. These can be a lot of fun for “dressing up” your pictures and decorative elements. You should consider investing in a paper trimmer too; this will make it easy for you to get the straight edges you want.

Journaling is a huge part of creating your scrapbook pages. Invest in high-quality acid-free pens. Get permanent ink so you can be sure your memories will be preserved. By getting the highest quality pens you can afford you’ll enjoy a smooth feel that allows your text to look elegant and professional.

Remember you don’t need to stop with these basics. There are tons of options for enhancing your creations – stickers, frames, stencils, die cuts, and more. Be sure to look online for individual accessories and themed kits – you can often find free kits on scrapbooking websites. Explore online and the store sales and stock your kit up – then have fun dressing up your Memories!

Ever thought of how to make big bucks by scrapbooking? You have started this hobby of your own since who knows when and how and now that you are such an expert, how about gaining something out of it?

If you want to make use of this talent and skill then you can also decide to run this business at home. First create a list of all your friends who have seen your art and who have adored it. I’m sure your friends have also asked you to do some scrapbooks for them, as they also are the sentimental type. They would be able to refer you to some of their friends’ friends and now you have created your network.

I’m sure some people out there commemorate special events in their lives and what could be better than creating heirloom scrapbooks? Baby birthdays, family reunions, graduations, vacations, anniversaries, weddings or any milestone, those that would like to be kept and sealed in a book. You can ask your clients to give your their photos and you can improvise and use your artistic skills to make texts and design elements to bring these celebrations to life on the pages.

If you are still starting with this hobby and would like to make this as a business, you will need the skills to be successful. Scrapbooking is not a joke so make sure you have the heart for crafting, an eye for design and the patience for arranging different elements on a page using your imagination.

When it comes to scrapbooking many people have trouble getting started because they just can’t seem to come up with ideas. They get what writers call, “writers block” they lose their creative juices.

We all at one time or another face this challenge, the main thing at this point is to get back to basics. Keep it simple, do not overwhelm yourself trying to think of everything or have your mind go in circles trying to think what you should be doing.

The first place to start is with your scrapbook paper, you do not need to go crazy here, just pick up some inexpensive colored paper which you can find in any box store. Once you have got yourself some paper then it is time to think about what tools you will need.

To cut the paper you will obviously need a good scissors. To add to your paper you are going to need some trimmings, embellishments, accessories etc. A lot of this can be found lying around your own home, so you do not need to spend a lot of money buying accessories.

You can use different pieces of paper to frame your pictures and you can also use that paper to cut out shapes and sizes. Then add some markers and stickers to further enhance your scrapbook.

The main thing you want to do is get organized as this will help free up your mind so that it can be creative, if you are worrying about what you should have, it will be hard to come up with ideas relative to the theme of your scrapbook.

What’s also important is to enjoy the process, if you trying to get it perfect the first time then this will cause you to get stressed out. You want to experiment – and as you do you will be surprised to find that ideas start popping into your head.

Start with a happy smiley picture and add more smiles to it, as in a happy sun face and when doing this you may catch yourself giggling a little which will help you to relax and enjoy it. When your mind is relaxed it will be far more productive.
